Merav Rahat is an designer, independent artist and art curator, researcher, writer and lecturer inquiring the relations between design, art, culture and contemporary design tendencies. In her works Merav is investigating the boundaries between design and art in their philosophical and practical aspects, focusing on interrelationship between visual language, culture, place and time. Her works have been exhibited in solo and group shows in galleries and museums, as well as being featured in private collections.

During her stay at the Carmel Forest Resort, Merav delivered two lectures. In the first one, called "Colorful universe", she briefly takes the audience on a journey that focuses on the role of color in contemporary design. 
In the second lecture titled "What's the Matter?" she discusses the meaning of working with locally accessible materials as an expression of culture, place, and time.
